Carrye and Juliette met in 2001 while working at the rape crisis center in Columbia, SC. Juliette served as the Survivor Advocate and Carrye as the Community Education Coordinator and Therapist. Our friendship was immediate as we bonded over our northern roots, made each other laugh, and fervently worked towards justice for those who had experienced sexual and relationship violence. We often talked outside of the office about the day we would have our own business where we would train others to have compassion and understanding for survivors of sexual violence while also working to prevent all forms of violence against women. Juliette moved to Raleigh, NC in 2005, while Carrye and her family stayed in South Carolina. We remained good friends over the years, continuing to share our passion for social justice and working on our separate projects. Carrye and her family moved to Raleigh, NC in 2011. The time was right for both of us and within a year, we founded Chrysalis Network.
